Many times there is blockage above the bowl in the tank fitting. This cub is in great shape. Long story on the circumstances anyway I will come right to the point. That was the reason I replaced the pressure plate as it seemed all the travel was being lost in the clutch finger pivots. Also make sure fuel tank is full enough so angle on hill is not causing fuel to go to end of tank away from tank outlet.

I finally had to cut my drive shaft from the engine to the clutch and install a couple of cross members and install 2 self aligning bearings to stop it from eating clutches and pressure plates every 5-6 months. I just get used to waiting 4 seconds before changing gears. I was driving it around with the throttle opened up. After having the tractor reassembled and many parts replaced; I used that tractor for about 10 years.
I checked the bearings in the deck, they seem fine. This grease zerk lubes the needle bearings which support and connects the mainshaft to the outputshaft. Some work centers were terribly over-loaded, other parts got ran just to keep people busy. The springs in the new pressure plate are significantly stiffer than in the old one and the braket that the throwout bearing linkage mounts to was flexing too much to release the clutch. Well, got the tranny pulled out and the final drives pulled off. Might get away with rubbing the paint down and some wax to make it look pretty, and welcome to the forum! They are also likely upside down. Sounds like it is starving under the load of the hill mowing. If had mowed ok before it has to be something simple.
