Now that ive hit 102,000mi my engine is running very rough with the servive stabilitrak,service traction control lights coming on…anyone have any advice on what i should do about this? They flashed like a strobe pattern for a few seconds, then stayed on. I bought this car for my peace of mind. I contacted onstar for an engine diagnostic- the result was that the powertrain system has failed- a malfunction of the electronic throttle control system. It was all good until last night when the samething happened again. By this time l Engine lighrt off. Light comes on and off sporadically.
Stopped by the shop as my engine light is on, they pulled the code and say it is the throttle body. I have only had oil changes done at other places, no other work done on my care by anyone other than the two rick dendricks dealerships I have been using since I got the car. Was at dealer 3 times in a month. Owned Chevy truck all my life. The message came on that morning andwent off that evening. Few have offered suggestions on what turned out to be a temporary fix. Next day at 530 pm my abs brake light came on as well as the stabila track light.
This weekend the stabilitrack light came on out of nowhere while I was stopped at a light. Dealer was and has been unresponsive to follow up calls for repair, and non-explanatory to risk, although they did make 1 unsuccessful attempt to fix when I drove there without shceduled appointment. So Can anyone tell me what the real fix is?! Gets great gas mileage and runs great. Driving over 40 just set it ti shimming and rocking. The dealership told me to keep my paperwork on the repair just incase of a recall and I can get reimburst. While driving on the expressway at a speed of 66mph, the vehicle decided it was going to stop. On your statement, does it give a refrence to a Special inspection, or maintenanvce order? It just happened today; while in a 40 mph zone three messages repeated on the dash and the car didn't have a whole lot of power.

Depending on the repair, there is a good chance the matter will be covered under your powertrain warranty. This is a roomy car, in the front as well as the back seats, and getting in and out is easy. Does it take someone to be killed in a mishap where the system is truly non-functional to get attention? I need to take to dealer if so what is the approximate cost to have this fixed? I have changed the accerator petal positioning sensor as well as the battery. In the middle of dealing with that I started having stabilitrak issues. I will say a quick fix is just disconnect the negative cable for 5 minutes then connect again it seems to clear it up short term. Perhaps most importantly, my husband can do most maintenance on our Impala himself. It's not loaded with technology.
