Ford didn't send me any card about vehicle because dealer I bought it from was bought out. This failure happened while the vehicle was still in drive mode. Dealer fried four more units verifying my complaint. When attempting to accelerate, the vehicle would hesitate and then jerk forward violently. Was in passing lane had to pull in the grassy media. Car had to be towed to drew ford dealer. Replaced with new ball joints.
Vehicle still awaiting parts for repair. I purchased a used 2008 Ford Escape with 69,980 miles. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. I backed out of a parking space, put the car in drive and accelerated. That plug ruined one of the coil-on-plugs cop. I shifted out of drive, put it back in drive and drove off.
Seems to be getting worse. The current mileage was 39,000 and failure mileage was 30,000. The vehicle was not repaired. Transfer Case failure, I noticed noise in the front end, took it in to get looked at, the transfer case was totally destroyed, on the inside. I took it to the dealership they told me that the pcm and 5 of 6 ignition coils failed. Because vehicle is off, airbags and other safety equipment may not activate increasing risk of fatal incident.
Catalytic converter was not replaced. She took the vehicle to a mechanic and was informed that the transmission fluid was completely black. I imagine we will more of these failures as these vehicles age. The vehicle continued to stall. On 8-22-07 replaced shaft and joint assembly.
There is one complaint from ghana. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where the contact was informed that the transmission was defective. Took it back was told that the computer said it was ok and there was nothing wrong. Rebuilt ford tranny still cannot get it right. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the dealer where it was diagnosed that all six emission coils failed and fractured the pcm.

Work done at midas auto service, not Ford dealer. When she took the vehicle to her mechanic, he hooked it up to the computer and it gave him a reading that the cylinder was not firing, but he thought there was more involved. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Also right lower ball joint replaced. Carefully inspect the transmission for leaks and have repaired as necessary. When I went to get the vehicle certified for the buyer, both brake flex lines required replacing apparently a common repair on that vehicle. The jolts to the vehicle kicking in gear destroyed the transmission. Through research, the contact found numerous complaints for this same failure. I tried resetting the pcm. Took to shop was told pcm was bad. The vehicle was 15 days old and had 1326 mostly highway miles on it when the failure occurred.
