Complaint Number: 10055943 Incident Date: January 15, 2004 Date Added to File: January 27, 2004 Description of the Complaint: While driving at night the head lights intermittently went from bright to dim. Just today I had a basic computer scan done which told me the problem. Just clip the wiring harness and take the bulb, the bulb holder and about 3 inches of wire. It is a safety hazard and eventually will lead to an accident due to gm not taking responsibility for their defects. Remove the instrument panel cluster. Now, you should be able to remove the large dash trim panel that goes around the fuel data center. As well as flicker headlights.
On an older Olds I was having turn signals that didn't work. I bought the car from a used lot in Aug 2014, shortly after I received a recall notice. Second is the right front blinker doesn't always blink when signaling, it just stays on. My problem with the noise on the right front ended up being a starter stuck in the engaged position hitting the fly wheel. Does anyone know the solution? This sounds similar to what some of you have described.
Hi I would check that front bulb. You have to remove the vent next to the hazard warning switch to get the unit out. Once it cranks car starts and runs perfectly. I paid to have the driver's side blinker relay system replaced and it worked for about a month but then both driver and passenger side blinkers started working intermittently again. Mine got better after replacing the socket, but I tried numerous times to repair the socket by adjusting the inner contacts to make a better connection and stop the charing process. Goodwrench should be ashamed of their neglect.
The flasher unit was not working. Prior to the failure, he noticed that the signal would stop working occasionally. Has been into dealer several times, but to no avail. I believe I've got the fix for the blinker bulb burning-out issue. The consumer was informed there was an issue with the reading of the key.

Then, suddenly while driving at night and trying to make a left turn in mid 2012, the passenger side blinker started making very loud electrical glitch sounds and then completely blew and my car died with it. I was really getting cold, my hands, feet nose and ears were starting to ache a little.
Prior to failure it made some hideous screeching noise a few times while properly indicating left. In this application, they've added an extra part that is of suspect design and wears out because it can't carry the current. One moment the turn signal works, the next moment it doesn't. I thought it was both front bulbs. I used his cellphone to call a mechanic friend of mine,he told me it to wait 15 minutes and try again. I've had to replace my brakes and rotors twice already.

Goodwrench should be ashamed of their neglect. Rear left tire with inside tire wear in 10,000 miles. I replaced the socket pig tails at 45. That approximate failure mileage was 120,000. So why, what does it have to take before, this problem with the lighting and electricall complaints of this vehicles engine, before some one dies due to the bright lights in the oncoming traffic or with the car aging and who knows what else this could be doing to that computer, with the power surges, before on of us owners loose all power and plows in to a tree, another car, we have no right to go out and kill people in this country, our cars are to to be driven, no at weapon ion the road, with a disaster waiting to happen.
I have also noticed the flickering headlights. This is very dangerous and has caused harm to my life eg. I believe the problem is the selector on the steering column. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Sand the painted mating surface where there terminal contacts the metal.
By then I was really worried about my feet I new they were frostbite. After the vehicle was serviced, the vehicle failed to start. I have a 94 Seville and I had that same problem you need a Turn Signal Flasher Moduel, I forgot the proper term for it but I had to get mine replaced too. What is the problem you are having? Some times turn signals will stop working after a restart and other times the turn signals will stop working whether the vehicle stalled or not. Then, suddenly while driving at night and trying to make a left turn in mid 2012, the passenger side blinker started making very loud electrical glitch sounds and then completely blew and my car died with it.
