I would start out by checking for obvious frayed harness spots such as where they run under the battery and the connector at the sensor itself. I dont remember code numbers but One was Cylinder 4 misfire, multiple cylinder misfire, and speed sensor. This does affect the other guages accuracy, but they do work. I know you've checked the wiring, but I still think you need to take a closer look at the wiring because of the shared ground between the trans solenoid pack and the battery temperature sensor. Using the correct size socket attached to the breaker bar for leverage put the socket onto the bolt head and pull or push the bolt head of the idler puller either forward or backward which ever way causes the tension arm to move thus moving the idler pulley so that pressure is removed from the serpentine belt.
